Join us for a special night of music as the Jack Pantazis Group pays tribute to the legendary jazz guitarist, Wes Montgomery. Known for his groundbreaking guitar style and immense influence on artists like George Benson, Jimi Hendrix, and Pat Metheny, Montgomery’s sound continues to shape jazz today.
Wes Montgomery (1923–1968) is considered one of the greatest jazz guitarists of all time. His innovative use of thumb picking and harmonic mastery made him a standout in the jazz world. Despite facing financial pressures early in his career, Montgomery’s talent was discovered by Cannonball Adderley, leading to a successful recording career with Riverside Records and collaborations with jazz greats like Miles Davis and the Wynton Kelly Trio.
Led by guitarist Jack Pantazis, the evening will feature some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians, including:
