JMI Presents The Malachi MacLean Trio

Every second Saturday night, we welcome the student trios from JMI—the Jazz Music Institute. They’ll take you through tunes from traditional jazz and swing, to bebop and beyond. These are Brisbane’s finest emerging talents, sure to get your toes tapping. Entry is free, no booking needed, but if you enjoy the show, feel free to tip the musicians. Tasty bites are available, and the bar features local and international wines, classic cocktails, fine spirits, and a deep bourbon collection worthy of New Orleans.

This week's show is The Malachi MacLean Trio. Malachi is a Brisbane-based Saxophonist in his third year at JMI. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Lou Donaldson, Art Pepper, and Jackie McLean, he aims to provide an upbeat night of Jazz Standards. Joining Malachi on stage will be Jett Forman on double bass and pianist Patrick Baldwin.
