JMI Presents the Richard Brider Trio

Richard Brider is a Brisbane-based pianist specialising in the jazz tradition known for his melodic sensibility, rhythmic flair and playful approach to the piano. A vision-impaired artist in his final year at the Jazz Music Institute, his sound draws on classical routes, bossa nova, Latin grooves and swinging jazz traditions. Richard and his trio featuring fellow JMI students Jett Forman on bass and Joe Rutledge on drums will be bringing their trio for the first time to the Ruby Jazz Club where they will be playing works from some of the great jazz composers, drawing upon influence from the great piano trio groups lead by the likes of Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Brad Mehldau and more.
