About The Event
Mariana Verna is a Meanjin-based jazz vocalist and arranger with over 10 years of experience performing contemporary music. With influences of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Carmen McRae, Mariana loves a diverse range of music, including swing, bebop, Latin, and fusion. After performing around Brisbane for the past 5 years in the jazz idiom, she has made a name for herself locally as a bandleader at venues such as The Burrow and Death & Co. and on a larger scale at QPAC's green stage, Queensland Conservatorium Theatre, and the Tivoli. Mariana is excited to be adding The Ruby to her list, joined by Jordy Stitt on keys. This is one performance not to be missed! We do not take bookings for our Saturday night shows.
